Description of Tanzania tour with Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar

Combine a beach break and a trekking holiday, plus multiple memorable safari experiences, into one amazing Tanzania tour.

This trip starts by giving you a taste of hiking on Kilimanjaro on a day trek. The Marangu Route of Kilimanjaro is the most popular route up the mountain. Whilst the full ascent of Kilimanjaro takes at least five days, in one day you can have a taster of the trail, trekking from Marangu village on the southeastern side of the mountain to the Mandara Huts – huts where trekkers going all the way up would sleep for the night. Your day trek is a steady and gentle climb up through rainforest, climbing from 1,970m to an altitude of 2,700m. The full trek takes around six or seven hours, there and back.

Once you’ve completed your hike, you’re going on safari. Your local drive and guide are wildlife-spotting experts and know exactly where to go to give you the best experiences. You’ll explore no fewer than five national parks: Arusha, with its timid birdlife and bushbucks; Tarangire, where elephants roam in enormous herds; Lake Manyara with its tree climbing lions; the fabulous Serengeti and the wildlife-rich Ngorongoro Crater. If you’re not done with walking, you could choose to go on walking safari in some locations instead.

Zanzibar is a wonderful place to have a beach break after a safari adventure. Swap the rumbling road drives for smooth sandy beaches – and there’s plenty of snorkelling if you’re not ready to hang up your spotter’s guide just yet.

This local company – run by a husband-and-wife team and staffed by expert guides – can tailor your trip so you have the best chance of seeing the animals you’ve dreamed of seeing – but there are always wonderful surprises in store in the savannah.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?

We did four walking safaris and a day hike on the Kilimanjaro which were absolute highlights. On the car safari, we saw an incredible cheetah hunt, 29 lions (yes, 29) walking in a line, and rhinoceros mating.

2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?

Do the walking safaris!! the Kilimanjaro hike is a must!!

3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?

It definitely benefited locals since Ann and Abu, the owners of the tour operator are Tanzanians. They tailored our trip and made every one of our requests come true!

4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?

It was absolutely extraordinary. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a fantastic experience in beautiful camps and lodges, close to nature without excessive luxuries distracting from the beautiful nature.

We are supporting tree planting project at Usambara Mountain which involve the school children from 7 years to 14yrs to raise awareness of taking care of their environment and how the cut down trees would have a negative impact to the wildlife and future generation. For the tree planting project like the friends of Usambara mountains the clients are able to participate in planting trees together with the school children with their teachers. They can also buy trees from the village trees nursery and donate to the project.

During the game drive we encourage our guests to follow the policy of Trash In Trash out to make sure our National parks remain clean for the well being of our Wildlife.

We are supporting the big campaign on getting rid of use of plastic bags and bottles so we offer our client refillable bottles for there water and we do not use plastics in our cars and also for the lunchboxes . We also avoid a lot of printing, and for bookings and other related issues with paper we try to do online in order to avoid printing a lot and hence saving trees!

In Tanzania where our office is the major source of power is hydroelectricity, which need a lot of water, but we are in a Tropical Country where the sun is throughout the year. In our office we use solar system to avoid the much wasted water from Hydroelectricity.

As a team of people who loves nature and care about our community well being believe that we only have one planet and we should all do our part to ensure that it’s protected by combining our modern ways of living with a deeper respect and understanding of what nature provides. Environmental conservationists understand that the way we live is a reflection of how we feel about the natural world, and our everyday habits show how much we truly value all the things that the Earth gives us.
