Holiday information
Small group tour, ideal for solos & couples:
Small group travel is not large group travel scaled down. It is modeled on independent travel – but with the advantage of a group leader to take care of the itinerary, accommodation and tickets, and dealing with the language. It’s easy to tick off the big sights independently – but finding those one-off experiences, local festivals, travelling markets and secret viewpoints is almost impossible for someone without the insider knowledge gained from years in the field. For those with limited time, a small group tour will save valuable time in planning, and on holiday.
Diet:
We can cater for vegetarians on this holiday. Sadly we cannot offer vegan food.
Responsible Travel
As the pioneers of responsible tourism, we've screened this (and every) holiday so that you can travel knowing we've worked to maximise the benefits of your holiday to local people and places, and minimise any negative impacts.
Planet
Carbon reductionAccommodation and restaurants in the itinerary use locally sourced food which has not been transported long distances.
We choose to travel by overnight trains twice (a round trip) and not use domestic flights.
Vegetarian options are available at most accommodation and restaurants.
Environment and wildlife
By travelling in a small group, we tread lightly to minimise our impact on local resources and the environment.
We work with our partners on the ground to proactively reduce waste; this includes eliminating all single-use plastic water bottles by providing refills for reusable bottles.
The payment of entrance fees to natural reserves, such as Erawan National Park, Khao Sok National Park and Ang Thong Marine National Park, generates income used to upkeep and develop these important sites.
We rewild 1,075sqft (100sqm) per passenger to compensate for all trip and flight emissions.
People
Local economyThe use of a local guide means our customers are well informed about local traditions and cultural-social sensitivities.
This trip brings income and opportunity to the destination community through the inclusion of locally owned hotels and restaurants, the emphasis on eating locally produced food, and by supporting other local enterprises.
Near Kanchanaburi, we stop by the village of Baan Nong Khao to learn about village life, including participating in making khanom tan, a dessert made with palm sugar. Here, we watch the locals at work and have the chance to support the village industries.
