Description of Unusual accommodation in Lanzarote, Canary Islands
Enjoy a stay in the lap of luxury, with eco credentials firmly in place, at this unusual Lanzarote accommodation set close to the traditional Canarian fishing village of Arrieta.
Set within a relaxed and attractive finca, the old water tower has been converted into a stylish modern apartment, with marble floors and uninterrupted views of mountain and sea. Enjoy coffee on the balcony, before indulging in some of the many activities available close to the eco resort: surfing, kayaking, golf, yoga, horse riding and cycling, to name just a handful. Or just catch some of that glorious Lanzarote sun on Arrieta beach, a short walk from your accommodation.
With a kingsize bed, and en suite shower room, this light and airy apartment sleeps two very comfortably, but a child’s cot or bed can easily be added. If you are travelling as a couple however, perhaps upgrade to a VIP package that includes airport transfers and a bottle of Moet on arrival.
This eco retreat is as peaceful as it is beautiful, with mature gardens, and a shared solar-heated pool. All energy is supplied by renewable sources, and all the eggs at breakfast are supplied by the resort’s own free range hens. Whip up an omelette at the kitchen, and other meals can easily be found at the charming fishing village nearby, which has a good range of shops and restaurants.
Everything you need for a romantic, relaxed getaway on Lanzarote is right here, and a million miles from some concrete mega resort.

2 Reviews of Unusual accommodation in Lanzarote, Canary Islands
Reviewed on 02 Nov 2021 by Tony Jones
1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Watching the sun set whilst 300m up in the air over the sea cliffs in a paraglider.
An absolutely magical experience.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
If you are unsure of anything, just ask.
You will always get a swift and courteous response.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
It felt good to support a small family business. The accommodations were off
grid and I particularly liked the bucket for collecting waste shower water, with
which to feed the plants. Overall, the place was low key or discrete. You would
hardly know it was there if you weren’t looking for it.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
A very pleasant and relaxing holiday, with very friendly staff and guests. The
island has a rugged beauty to it, and I would definitely recommend the
tandem paragliding experience.

1. What was the most memorable or exciting part of your holiday?
Geology of the volcanic landscape & collecting fresh eggs for breakfast
from the site chickens.
2. What tips would you give other travellers booking this holiday?
It's windy. Sometimes very windy, but breathtaking nonetheless.
3. Did you feel that your holiday benefited local people, reduced environmental impacts or supported conservation?
We stayed at an off grid eco resort. However, we flew there and everything has to be imported. So not really to the environment but yes to the local economy.
4. Finally, how would you rate your holiday overall?
Relaxed. Energised. Enthralled.

All properties here are "Off the National Grid" and give guests the opportunity to experience firsthand, living with solar panels and wind turbines and using the latest renewable energy systems. We have installed the most up to date energy systems on offer, and they work very efficiently. The system in "Finca de Arrieta" is the largest on Lanzarote and runs on a 48 Volt system and has no problem powering the 12 dwellings on site. People
All the staff are people resident in the island so we create employment in the area. Local stone and trades men have helped bring the retreat to a beautifully finished paradise. We promote rural tourism and encourage our guests to eat out locally, visit local markets and use local amenities such as shops and sports facilities etc. We also encourage them to purchase local products and offer an optional local produce grocery box for arrival (additional charge).Popular similar holidays
